I made some changes to the last few pages and added two more pages that complete issue #1. I think you'll like the meeting between Angela and David in this version than in the previos entry.
“Dual Complex” by Michelle Poust
Page 1
P1 - Establishing shot of a field. The focal point is a huge tree and nearby is a lake. There is a little girl with ponytails (Angela, Age 5) wearing a makeshift robber’s mask. She’s carrying a bag and looking as if she’s on the lookout.

Voice: (off-panel above) Got ya!
Angela: Huh?!
Page 2
P1 - Extreme shot looking up from the ground. Angela is looking up in the trees over her shoulder. We see David jumping down from the limb coming down on her.
David: YAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Angela: AHHHHHHHHH!!!!
P2 - Full shot of David sitting on top of the Angela who is struggling to get away from under him.
David: Thought you could get away, huh?
Angela: Oww!! Get offa David! You’re… HEAVY!!!
P3 - David gets off of her. He is sitting next to her with his arms crossed looking annoyed. Angela is getting up brushing off her clothes while trying to catch her breath.
David: You’re no fun…
Angela: Says who? I wanna play the hero and you never let me!
P4 - Medium shot. Side view of Angela crossing her arms with a “humph!” expression. David stands proudly behind her with his thumb pointing at him.
David: I told you before. I’m the hero because I say so!
Angela: I’m not playing anymore!
P5 - View changes so “camera” is in front of Angela. She looks over her shoulder at her brother looking as though she’s being somewhat forgiving. He has his hand over his heart and one hand behind his back.
David: Oh come on Angie! It’s just a game. Look, I’ll even let you play the hero next time, ok?
Angela: Really..?
David: Cross my heart!
P6 - Back view of David. Angela is hugging him, happily. David has his fingers crossed behind his back.

They look like they might work for a mafia type group, but they’re NOT sophisticated or in suits, nor do they look that intelligent. They wear pants, shirts, jackets that are dark colored, maybe wear skullcaps. They look like someone you don’t want to mess with on the streets.
Angela: 3!
P4 - Shot of several criminals shocked and scrambling. The criminal closest to the front is their leader. He is bigger than the others.
Leader: Shit! Cops!
Thug: RUN!
P5 - Downward shot of Angela still having the gun aimed.
Angela: I suggest you make it easier on yourselves and give up! We’ve got you surrounded!

Angela: Now then…
SFX: Ta-tap (sound of her shoes hitting the ground as she lands)
P5 - Shot of Angela pointing the gun at the leader.
Angela: You’re going to tell me everything I want to know… Who’s your provider, where to find him, his plans, yadda yadda yadda! Oh yeah, and the name of your tailor you’ll be paying to fix my favorite coat!
Page 9
P1 - Side view, leader looking up at Angela, yelling.
Leader: NO WAY! I AIN’T SQUELLIN’! ‘Specially not to some two-bit bitch cop!
P2 - Angel shoves the gun into his nose. The leader looks at the gun cross-eyed.
Angela: Oh, I think Mr. Magnum says you will.
Leader: You can’t do that! You’re a cop!
P3 - Same view with Angela cocking the gun. Leader is freaking out.
SFX: (Gun cocking) Ka-chink!
Angela: And not a very nice one, either.

Inset panel a closer/ clearer image of the man.
Page 11
P1 - View from the second floor, the man begins to run away. Below we see Angela yelling at him.

Angela: You’ve got some talking to do.
Page 13
P1 - Angela is sitting at her desk. She seems a little dazed. On her desk is a pile of paperwork in front of her, a phone, and a few pictures on her desk. One of her family, maybe one of her wedding, one of her daughter and particularly one of her and David when they were kids from the beginning of the story.
P2 - ¾ view of Angela looking a little surprised (or rather, just waking up from her daze) as a newspaper is thrown on her desk.
Connor (voice from off-panel): Congrats, Officer!
Angela: Ah-!?
P3 - Connor sits on the edge of Angela’s desk. He is dressed in a police uniform and has sandy blonde hair that is slicked back. He also has bright blue eyes and looks very friendly. He smiles as Angela looks up at him.
Angela: Oh, Connor. It’s just you... / What’s up?
Connor: Only me? I’m hurt. / Have you seen the news? Your bust made the front page! We’re one step closer to figuring out who the big Kahuna of this underground organization is and shutting them down permanently! / How do you feel?!
P4 - Side view of Angela slumping back in her chair looking exhausted. Connor looks at her with concern.
Angela: Exhausted…
Connor: You okay? You haven’t been yourself since the bust. What’s on your mind?
Angela: It’s nothing…
P5 - Mid-shot of Connor crossing his arms in pride looking smug.
Connor: Yeah right! You can’t fool a Grade A+ Police interrogator!
P6 - Angela looking down at the newspaper. Her hands are holding her head up.
Angela: You too damn good for your own sake.
Connor: (off-panel) Naturally.
Angela: Let’s just say, I thought I saw that I think I knew before…
Connor: (off-panel) Who?
Inset panel: Close up on Angela’s face. Something has caught her eye on the newspaper.
Page 14
P1 - Shot looking down over her shoulder at the newspaper. Be sure to get picture of her and her brother as kids included in the panel. Inset panel: Close-up on the top of the neighboring building, we see the man from the bust.
Angela: That’s him!
P2 - View from the newspaper looking up at Angela and Connor looking down at the paper. Angela is looking off to the side where the pictures on her desk would be.

Connor: AnnNNnnnggg…. PhooOOOoneee!!
Angela: Oh! Sorry Connor!
Connor: Take it easy, ok?
Angela: Thanks…
P3 - Close of Angela talking on the phone. She looks relieved, and smiles.
Angela: This is Officer- Oh! James! How are you, honey?
P4 - On the other side of the phone line. Angle looking down on a man, Angela’s husband, standing behind a stove cooking a dinner, probably spaghetti. He’s tall, kind of lanky, clean-cut with sandy blonde hair. Dresses nicely and wears glasses, so he looks intelligent. He looks down at his side at their daughter tugging on his pants leg holding a doll. She looks a bit like Angela when she was a child only she has her father’s hair color. You can tell Angela is blessed with a loving family.
James: Fine! Fine! Rachael and I just got home from daycare and-
Rachael: -Dadddddddddyyy! I wanna talk to mommy!
James: Hold on, Rachael wants to talk to her mommy!
P5 - Mid shot of Rachael happily talking on the phone now.

Angela: Let me talk to daddy and I’ll be home soon. I love you!
Rachael: (from phone) I love you too, mommy! Bye! Bye!
P2 - Shot of James talking on the phone while Rachael plays with her doll.
James: She’s excited. Congratulations on making the cover story, dear.
Angela: Thanks…
James: You don’t sound too thrilled about it. Is something wrong?
P3 - Angela is putting the newspaper away in her messenger bag, she looks a little down. She rests the phone on her shoulder as she talks into it.
Angela: Everything’s fine… it’s just… / I think I saw someone I haven’t seen in a really long time.
James: (on phone) Who?
P4 - Angela holds the picture of her and her brother in her hands.
Angela: My brother…
P5 - Angela puts the picture in her bag and looks like she wants to end the phone conversation like NOW.
Angela: I know! I know! I haven’t seen him since I was 10, but… / Can we talk about this when I get home?
James: Of course! But, would you mind picking up some bread on your way home?
P6 - Angela is putting on her coat getting ready to leave.
Angela: Sure. I’ll be home soon. / I love you. Bye.
P7 - Angela waves goodbye to other officers as she leaves the building through double doors.
Angela: (thought) But I just can’t shake the feeling that something big is about to happen.

Angela: (thought) But what connection would you have to the bust? For your sake I hope that wasn’t you…
P4 - Same shot only something has caught her attention.
P5 - Shot behind Angela. She is looking outside the window. We see the figure of “David” from the night of the bust. He is obviously staring straight back at her.
Inset panel: Closer view of the man.
Angela: It’s him!
P6 - The man begins to turn and walk away. He knows he’s been seen, but doesn’t rush off yet.
Angela: Oh no you don’t! Not today!
Page 18
P1 - Angela takes her groceries starts making her way past the register and the elderly woman.
Woman: How rude!
Cashier: Hey! You gonna pay for that or am I callin’ the police?!
P2 - Angela drops money off in front of the cashier. He’s a bit stupefied.
Angela: I am the police. / Keep the change.
P3 - Angela is standing outside the grocery store and is looking to her left (reader’s right) as the man ignores her calling and rushes past people.
Angela: Wait! I just want to talk to you!
P4 - Angela starts chasing after him. They’re both weaving in and out between people. He’s further ahead than she is.
Random person: Hey watch it!
Angela: Excuse me.
Random person 2: The nerve!
Angela: Pardon me!
P5 - Angela sees him ducks into an alley. She is irritated.
Angela: (thought) Well aren’t you creative in escape routes.
Page 19
P1 - Angela makes it around the corner only to see that he’s jumped over a gated road block.
Angela: Dammit!
P2 - Angela makes it over the fence. She leaves her bag behind on the other side of the fence.
Angela: What’s he playing? Cat and mouse?
P3 - Angela starts running again. She pulls out her gun out of her jacket while doing so.
Angela: (thought) Better play it safe. Never know if he’s leading me into a trap.
P4 - She comes to a four way alley. It looks deserted and junked up. On the sides of the buildings are stairways that lead to different floors of the buildings. Angela looks confused and angered. She holds her gun close to her and looks alert.
Angela: Damn… Where did he go?!
Page 20
P1 - The man sneaks up on her standing about 3 feet behind her. She knows he’s behind her.
Angela: Alright you, enough games.
P2 - Angela turns around and points the gun at him. She has a stern look and he is calm.
Angela: Who are you? And what were you doing at the warehouse that night? Cause if you have info I want, you better spill it.
P3 - The man, who actually IS David, stays completely still, unphased by her words. He grabs her wrist tightly squeezing her hard enough she drops the gun. Angela refuses to give in. and has a hand over his fist.
David: You really shouldn’t point guns at someone unless you’re really intent on shooting them.
Angela: Errr!!
P4 - Angela throws a punch at his face with her free hand but misses as his head tilts out of the way.
Angela: Eee-YAHHHH!!!
P5 - Medium shot of David spinning her around and has her in a neckhold. She claws at his arm to try to break free. She is angered while he still remains calm.
Angela: Let… Go… of me!!!
P6 - Close up of David speaking in her ear. He has a slight smirk on his expression. She looks at him out of the corner of her eye, obviously wanting to beat the daylights out of him.
David: I’ll let go when you settle down, young lady.
Page 21
P1 - David releases his hold on her. She starts to fall forward and her hands instinctively go to her throat to catch her breath.
Angela: *cough! Cough!*
P2 - Angela is on the ground still recovering with her eyes shut tight. David looks at her, his expression is kind of sad looking. Maybe he feels bad for nearly suffocating her.
Angela: What were you trying to do? KILL ME?!
P3 - Close up shot of Angela, she is shocked by what David is telling her.
David: You and your family need to get out of here…/ now…
Angela: What…?
P4 - Angela looks up at him, but he’s already walking away.
Angela: Why are you telling me this?
P5 - Shot changes so that we see David in the foreground but we see Angela starting to get up behind him. Her head still faces the ground.
Angela: Where are you going?! You still haven’t told me why you were at the warehouse. But more specifically-
P6 - Close up on the back of David’s head.
Angela: (off panel) -who are you?!
P7 - Same shot only David is looking over his shoulder at her.
Page 22
P1 - Side view of Angela. Close-up on her face which is shocked, not by his words but she now knows for sure that this man is in fact David. Her head is still tilted down.
David: Get out of here now, Angie. / Or else…
Angela: (quietly) David?
P2 - Angela sticks her hand out like she’s reaching for something that’s just out of her range. She calls out of her brother.
Angela: DAVID! WAIT!
P3 - Shot changes to over her shoulder looking in front of her. David has disappeared.
Angela: No!
P4 - She runs forward a little looking around.
P5 - She stops in her tracks, looking down empty alleys seeing no trace of him.
Angela: He’s gone…
