Graduation Part I
This is like 3 days late but I think today will be the best day to write because...just because. Maybe cause my mind's calm now :)) (Surprisingly,in the day)
Anyway..WARNING! Heavy content. If you don't wish to read. You can just look at the next post. This post is mainly for me to remember how the day was like :))
So...my day started as early as 8am. My sister was helping me laminate the last few cards. And then it went on to editing the video cause the teachers didn't agree with one part but whatever that. I still have that version with me. Got ready and everything. My palms started sweating like mad. I was really extremely nervous for God knows what reason.
Anyway, I reached school pretty early like at 12.50pm and just sat in the library. So Val came up to me and gave me this letter, and I swear she ALMOST got me crying cause yeah....the past and everything else. Then Farhan & Joel came. We were all discussing about how upset we were cause Grad was at 4pm. & Who the hell cries in the evening. Joel was like,"People cry at night." Haha okay (not exactly the case for some of us)
I didn't get to see Ms Ong cause everything was so rushed. She said I was good to go and I didn't even rehearse my speech on that day >.<
There's too many things to write really.
They handed us our certs and everything. Yknow in case you can't go up. I was really praying hard that everyone could go up on stage and thank God,my prayers were answered. Although Shankar had to like center-part his hair etc. It was too funny. Everyone was laughing so hard but I pity him to a CERTAIN extent :P
Okay so anyway,Jen Whee wanted to open up his envelope and honestly,that was the FIRST time ever I saw him being so dumb! Hahaha! He was trying to tear the bottom part of the envelope (the envelope wasn't sealed at the top) and I just gave him the "wtf" face and said like,"Dude,it's here!!!!!" Andrew gave him the same face after I pointed it out and went,"OhmyGod!"
We had like a rehearsal and I was really looking at where everyone was sitting so I knew where to place the cards but it got screwed in the end. Haha cause Vivek didn't sit where I expected him to sit and Jon Poh didn't come. Oh well. But they've got it la. :))
Then we had this alumni talk and then the REAL thing. The waiting time was probably the best time cause everyone was excited and Andrew was being himself la. He asked Isabelle,"Isabelle,why didn't you go for Commonwealth? Oh cause not as rich as Feng Tian Wei uh. No common wealth." -.- And then he started doing that "Your finger below someone's chin" thing and see their reactions. I think the funniest was to Ilma cause she moved back and further back and in the end slapped his hand away. But I think the best was when he said,"Pull my tongue." (We were playing that imaginary line thing so I didn't literally touch his tongue, that'll be disgusting.) So I did and then I moved my fingers up and down and he did his whole tongue moving up and down thing. Seriously,he taught me all these stupid things
Mrs Wee was checking everyone and when it came to like the guys in class,they were giving her this pokerface and "What the hell's your problem?" attitude. I think Ivan totally owned it when he sort of brushed her hand away. & I think it was the first time also I saw Jovi laugh so hard at Andrew's nonsense. And Ning joined us too. Think she had a great time too. Oh and I think Krista,Jo,Val and Charisse had a great show. Hahaha all the laughing made it so freaking hot to handle!
So it was time for us to go in already and it was one of the nicest thing I've ever experienced! The scream from the trackers and everything,it was just epic! I still can remember how Sakinah was laughing so hard after seeing me -.- Really liked that moment a lot :))
Bowed,took our seats etc. Think everyone was surprised by the cards I prepared for them. But I guess it was the least I could do especially when I don't know when I might talk or see them again. :))
Oh and I could've sworn everyone was so fidgety during the Principal's and GOH's address. But the GOH's was quite fascinating with his Ben & Jerry's and "Whoooo!" HAHA! Everything happened too quickly after their speeches. The video came and it didn't feel like 12 minutes at all. I should've put Andrew's and Jovi's sec one photo. Like they were telling me,"You should have la." Ya,tell me after I've saved the video. -.- But oh well,maybe I should add the two photos before I post it up on Youtube/Facebook :) I think I will :)
Then after the video, came the speech and omg I was so nervous. But I'm glad all went well :)) It was really hard to make eye contact cause I could see no one at all! Like 'twas damn dark and it gave me the pain in the eyes everytime I shifted my eyes from the rostrum to the audience. Cause bright and then dark,caused a bit of pain. Oh well,just glad it went well :)
Came the scrolls and everything and i just have one question... How am I first in level for Express/Through-train? I didn't even join the TT class!! Haha joke. I think the class photo thing was really cool :))) I really liked it.
Teachers video was quite a nice one. Except erm,yeah. NBH. God knows what he was doing up there HAHA! Nvm that. It's over and I'm sure he meant his words well :)) I only can remember Mdm Chan's and Ms Jenny's well. They seriously acted as though they're like 18!!!!! OMG. Hahaha Fatin and I were laughing so hard when we watched it :P :P
Hm,come to think of it... It ended pretty soon. Like soon,we were singing the school song for the last time. And honestly,I never thought it'll come so soon. And I knew before everything that this moment would probably be the saddest cause Idk,the school song suddenly meant something when I sang it for the last time. I think it's a great school song and it really pictures the days we've had in SSP. So kudos to the composer! :))
Finally,the part we've all been waiting for. SCROLL THROWING! Hahaha it was like THE best part! :))) It was sad for Andrew cause one of the scrolls hit his head. And he was like,"Owwwww..." HAHAHAH omg joke of the evening! Jovi had to rub his head a lil'. >.<
So yeah,everything ended. Just like that. 4 years gone. HI PEOPLE,4 YEARS. Pretty fast.
After everything,the usual let's take photos. We had our class photo taken with our class t-shirts and then with the trackers and the tears started coming. Quite a sad moment but I'm all over it now cause it was a good memory and I've already kept it well :))) I was really touched by everyone of course :)) The time was too short and there were too many people to see, I didn't get to see them all. But hey,not like I'm not gonna see them ever again >.<
So we had our clique picture taken with three people missing (Angela,Sha & Wendy). I'll miss us a lot really cause we've been through too much shit and conflicts together that suddenly,on Graduation Day,none of that mattered anymore. Just that moment yknow. So yeah,I'm looking forward to our dinner after their EOYs and O's. :)) It'll be nice & I hope everyone can make it :)))
Yup. I guess that's how my Graduation was like. I think I'm really very proud to have graduated. Like wow. I never wanted to but now that I have,I really feel proud. :) I'll miss a lot of things of course,but people can always meet up. I've had my fair share of tears & laughter. So it's time to let go because I know I've had a great time in SSP. It'll always be in my body,mind and soul for me to remember the good times (& maybe the bad times to laugh all of it off). I'll remember the 85 people. (Still wished the school let Nic and Alif graduate though) All of these will be a living memory & I'm proud to be part of Singapore Sports School's Graduating Class of 2010 :)
For now,I say goodbye to this chapter of my life.
& I look forward to what comes next.
