So apparently Mrs.Senisi runs Freshman Orientation. Why, I couldn't tell you >_<. Spanish teacher thinks she's a guidance counselor. Went and asked her about how club presentations are going to go, whether it would be like last year or like ours. She said she didn't even remember putting clubs in the gym last year, and that clubs wouldn't be presenting at the Orientation on Wednesday. She said, instead, that she's planning on having clubs try to recruit freshmen at the Orientation the week before school starts. I bet you all a nickel she doesn't inform clubs of this between now and then. Art Service will be at the school that day and the day before anyway for Summer Days, so we should be able to recruit even if the other clubs don't get the opportunity. She also said she wants clubs to be at Parents' Night in September.
If any of you remember our Orientation, the one that's taking place next week, then you'll remember we sat in the bleachers in the gym, the counselors spoke some, and two representatives from each (or at least a lot) of the clubs spoke and said what they do overall in that club. Then we were given a paper that had a checklist of the clubs and marked off which we might have interest in. Well, the 8th graders this year are going to be given a checklist with clubs that they might be interested in ... even though the clubs won't be telling the 8th graders what they do. What? Logic in there anywhere? I don't get it.
More reason to dislike Mrs.Senisi. Other than my entire freshman year with her as a Spanish 1 teacher.
Still had the Art Service meeting to say all that, to ask the two freshmen that came if they had any suggestions for Orientation anyway, and to get the list of names of people that worked on the masks for the choir concert program by Mrs.Curry's request. Went around first to look for Mr.Wilfinger (couldn't find him) and then to Dr.Clark with the boar's head on a roll of paper as a stick, for English teachers' amusement at the Lord of the Flies reference. Dr.Clark said he wants it on his wall if it doesn't find another home. We have to ask Mrs.Curry about that. We were thinking about walking into the English office with it, but Desmond locked the room.
