it's good to be home

The cat is happy. The cat curls up on my back, against my chest, on a pile of neatly folded pajamas, anywhere she can reach. I brush four brushfuls of hair off her, and she still leaves a white cloud on everything she touches.

It's weird to be here in the quiet of my apartment, the only sound faint street noise and the hum and trickle of the cat's drinking fountain, after such a crazy eleven days. It's wonderful, but it's strange, and strange also to be alone after so many days anything but.

I have a lot to say and a lot of places to say it, but I'm reading through LJ and realizing I'm never going to catch up. So I have a question: What did you read or write in the last eleven days that stayed with you, or that mattered most? I don't care what it's about - you, Japan, Libya, fandom, music, whatever. I'd just like a scattering of the things I missed while in the SXSW bubble. If you care to share.

For now, the coffee water is boiling, I have a review to write (about a movie I saw a month and a half ago, ack), and I need a shower. Errands to run, bills to pay, floors to clean, work to do. A job to find, now that I'm back.

I love traveling. And I love the way it makes home feel more like home, too.

travel, home, questions
