First doll repaint

I have recently found myself drooling after Monster High dolls, and not only the official ones but customs, too. The dolls are beautiful as they are, but they seem to have such versatile faces after you remove the factory paint. I have found some really gorgeous customs on deviantART!

So far I don't have a single MH doll - they're very expensive here in Finland and I haven't found a doll yet at a store that I couldn't have resisted. And since I don't have any experience in painting dolls, I wouldn't want to spend 20-30 Euro on a doll and then ruin it by removing the factory paint. (There are some I'd like to collect as they are but none in my local stores.)

Therefore I wanted to try my hand at repainting some dolls before I go and buy a more expensive one. I bought this fake Barbie at a flea market already some years ago and I've been meaning to paint her ever since. Now I finally had some extra time and decided to give it a go.

So here's what she looked like before...

(she came with the outfit, handsewn I think... but soo ugly! and look at that hair, lol)

...and after:

I still have a long way to go and the paint job came out way too lumpy for my taste, but at least she looks better than she did with the factory paint. I'm sure she'll look even better with hair.

Next I'll need to get some chalk pastels for softer shadowing, and some bigger dolls like Bratz to practise with.
