Work

So, from Monday, June 20th, to Sunday, July 3rd, I worked 8 hours a day with no days off, selling rugs o_o;; I'll tell you what, it is tough to try to sell $300 (2x3) to $8000 (10x14) handmade-in-tibet area rugs at a Costco Wholesale Store in Federal Way, WA, even at more than 60% off @_@;; But it's better to start off hard than easy, I guess, so you know it'll only get better from that point on. I don't know when (or if) they'll want me to do more of these shows, but if I do, it's not bad money o_o; you have to work for two weeks straight each show, and you get 8% commission on each rug sold. Generally you sell about $1000 a day in a bad market (like federal way), $2000 in a good one (like Kirkland), so that's between $80 and $160 a day. This is on top of your $50 a day base pay, plus $30 for food, +free hotel and rent-a-car.

Apparantly I have fairly decent sales skills, I just need to work on my people skills o_o;; it's tough to be someone's new best friend a few hundred times a day! Well, maybe it'll help me in life overall to practice being more open like that, right?
