Well this past weekend we went to Medina to see and ride Thomas the Train engine as well as see the Medina RR Museum. My advice to you all...save the $16.00 train ride...it certainly wasn't worth it! Anyhow it was great to see the family. I can't remember when was the last time we saw Todd, Lya and her two boys but I know it has been since Christmas since I've seen Tom's mom and dad. I was very disappointed in the fact that we had to eat at a fast food place for breakfast on Mother's Day as all the other places were packed and no one seems to want to wait in line. I so much wanted to go to the Cracker Barrel...my favorite! It seems like everyone was in a hurry to get home. Tom made up for it by taking me to this restaurant we went to when we first met. Hannah and I had the lobster ravioli and Tom had prime rib of course. It certainly was a VERY EXPENSIVE weekend. Tom's mom and dad will be heading out our way for Memorial Day weekend. It will be more work than enjoyment for them. Poppa will be helping Tom put the shed up and Momma will be babysitting for Zachary. I on the otherhand will be working. July 1st week will find Tom, I and Zachary heading out to DuBois in two separate vehicles. I will spend Monday through Thursday with them and Tom/Zachary will stay until Sunday. I guess I will be the one to take Hannah to NYC in June to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It will be a girlie girlie day for us and perhaps my cousin Jeff that lives out there will meet us for dinner. Hopefully my counterpart at work will swap a day with me so that I can do this.
Another good news...Tom is taking 6 weeks off due to LOW (lack of work). He will be off starting next Monday and not have to go back until July 9. I am so excited because now I can substitute during the week. He too is excited because the stress of worrying about getting your hours in for the pay period can be nerve wracking. I told him to take advantage of it because who to say when it will ever be offered again. I know when I was on maternity leave for Alex and Zachary...I just enjoyed the nice 'break' from work. He will only have a one week waiting period before he gets his unemployment check so really it's not bad at all. It used to be two weeks.
I am considering registering Zachary for nursery/daycare at a place close to home maybe once or twice a week. I think it will do him good to interact with other children. He's such a mommy's boy and I so want him to be ready when he goes to Pre-K (not required in New York). Hannah and Alex were above their age group when they were at their toddler age. Hannah 'skipped' kindergarten because the staff thought she would be too bored and she knew the things that were going to be taught in Kindergarten. Pre-K was the best thing for her being that she was the only child at the time and she needed to learn how to play and be with other peers her age. That's why I am definitely going to register Zachary when it's his time. If Alex was around I think he would have been a great 'teacher' for Zachary. Zachary will be at his normal age range when it comes to learning. He just doesn't want to be bother when I try to teach him his numbers, alphabets and colors. Believe me none of my kids are considered 'gifted' but they are a joy to watch and see them grow up to be their own person.
Okay now back to reality...it's time to house clean....have a good weekend!
