BSA Jamboree 2010 - Day 9

Aug 01, 2010 22:03

I led song at one of the Church of Christ services this morning. When I volunteered I had no idea I would be leading 600 people in worship to God. It was quite an experience. After the service I went back to my tent to relax for a bit and made it to my exhibit area about 12:30PM. I took my laptop to the exhibit so I could upload all the photos I've taken to my gallery so I have a backup copy. The work day went by quickly.

The weather today was wonderful! I think it was in the high 70s most of the day with perfect cloud cover. It rained very little. After "work" I went to the subcamp because the kids invited me to have dinner with them. They made stir-fry and it was delicious. I heard they had some barbecue ribs and chicken in the staff area tonight. I think I made the better choice. I let one of the kids, named Sam, hold on to my trading patches because he is convinced he can get me the last patch of the Stargate set. Troop 915 made a patch just for their Eagles and very few kids purchased them. It is a patch with the ship from "Stargate: Universe" on it.

It didn't have to catch a bus back to my tent tonight because Ronnie Pittman has a VIP Guest pass which lets him drive anywhere in the Jamboree. So, I got to stay at the subcamp a little later than normal tonight. I am currently charging four cell phones for kids. I plan to be back at the subcamp about 8:45AM tomorrow morning.

I didn't take any photos today.
