Mentalist: How do I hate thee...

Except that I can't really. Can't really count the ways. I hated almost everything about that episode.

-Not enough Lisbon. And Lisbon was relegated to basically looking stupid to make other characters look smart. NEVER GOOD.
-Why has Rigsby not told his boss that his girlfriend is pregnant? I would assume at the very least there are personnel issues involved.
-The lamaze class? Nothing but awkward. DNW.
-Angry!Van Pelt. I thought we were done with that... What was the point of the hateful O'Laughlin apparition if we're not.
-The kiss. IT WAS AWKWARD. IT JUST WAS. And this is genuinely not me freaking out from a ship perspective. It was just weird. If Jane must have a love interest, can they not be murderous and annoying?
-the weird Lisbon/VP scene in Lisbon's office. NO.
-basically all of the Erica/Jane scenes. Just No. There was potential to make this episode fun, and the way to do that was have a third party involved for comic relief. ALAS.
-And they didn't even make the stupid plotline about Jane acknowledging that with the celibate lifestyle he is occasionally lonely. THEY DID NOT EVEN GO THE EXCESSIVE MANPAIN ROUTE, WHICH AT THIS POINT WOULD HAVE BEEN PREFERABLE TO THIS WEIRDNESS.
-Not only was I praying for man!pain, I was playing for the show's inherent misogyny to make an appearance under the guise of Jane can never be wrong.

I seriously didn't like it. Stupid show.

-One thing I did like, was Wainwright discussing 'innovative approaches' and 'synergy,' but only because, as a public servant I can tell you those are such buzzwords. And it was so very character appropriate.
-Also I liked Lisbon's reaction to Jane's plan at the start of the episode.
-Oh, I've decided I did not hate the proposal, because it did showcase Sarah's awesomeness.

But honestly, that was IT. They nowhere near made up for the rest of the hour. And I had to think to come up with those three things that I did not hate.

Mutter... mutter...

I also was not wild about Criminal Minds yesterday. I didn't hate it, I just found it blah. OH. OH. And I find the whole Hotch/Beth thing awkward to watch, for some reason. I think it's because Hotch is so severe the rest of the time, now this is awkward for me? I don't know. Objecively as a plotline, it should work, but I don't really like it. But yeah, that was a minor part of the episode. Mainly I just didn't care about the case, and thought it was poorly done and mainly just gore and gratuitousness. It was so sensationalized and the family dynamic was so screwed up. Just no.

I will just remember the awesomeness of Once Upon a Time.

stupid show, mentalist, criminal minds
