Holiday Fic: Dec 18th - Secret Drawer

Why am I not surprised that Chibs has managed to prompt one of my more romantic Holiday/December fic?  Seriously, this is completely expected at this point.  So, this is for chizuru_chibi, who prompted Secret Drawer.  Or possibly Secret in a Drawer originally, but that’s basically the same thing.  And also, I find this awfully appropriate, given the subject of

Wonderful! A beautifully bittersweet fic. You've captured the characters and created something wonderfully detailed and multilayered. Love it!

:) Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. I think a lot of stuff with these two is bittersweet. That feeling kind of crops up naturally when I write sometimes, I guess. Anyway, thanks again!

Oh of course he had an actual drawer to match her memory palace. (And he stole her Spice Girls CD). Him keeping that stuff is kinda creepy but yet so very him that it's not so much. (If that made any sense.)
Glad there's a sequel because I wanted more out of this one.

Yes, I admit the idea of the two of them having matching metaphorical and actual drawers was what I thought of immediately when I got this prompt. Of course he stole her Spice Girls CD. Where else could it possibly have gone?

There is a sequel, although now I'm not sure it'll be up by New Years. Too much fic. I'm trying though.

I could not put enough hearts to get across how much I love this.

You receive "secret drawer" as a prompt and it somehow leads you to Lisbon's very own memory palace? I love how your mind works, I really do. And you're right; it *is* oddly appropriate in light of the last ep. MEMORY PALACE.

Somehow this most-secret drawer had become his too. Or rather, it was still hers, but he was the one filling it.

LOVE. I adore the idea of Lisbon thinking back to her grandfather and his cupboard with all its secret compartments. And there were so many lines throughout this fic that I could've picked. A dozen little gems.

Also. HA! The return of basketball! (you had that in another fic, I temporarily forget which one) That made me grin. And I also knew it would eventually be revealed that Jane took the Spice Girls CD, which made me grin more.

I'm really very happy to read that there'll be a sequel. You have no idea. *bounces* Because I'm wondering whether or not she'll find his secret drawer.

Hee. Really? Okay...

Anyway, so really what happened, was I got the prompt, then I wondered whether the secret drawer would be an actual drawer, or a metaphorical one. Then I wanted one of them to have a metaphorical drawer, and the other to have an actual drawer. Then I wanted them to match. Adn then Lisbon had a MEMORY PALACE. I do not know why. But these are the connections my mind makes. I cannot help it. It just happens.

The return of basketball. Because it is now basically my headcanon that Jane cannot play basketball. (Fic was Taking Charge, btw. Also featuring Lisbon in shorts...) But yes, of course Jane took the Spice Girls CD. Where else would that have gone.

There will be a sequel. Although now I'm not sure if I will be able to get it out before New Years, but I am going to try. I am...

Hee. I do like this fic, I just wasn't really expecting everyone else to, not to the extent that they apparently do at least...

Yes! I love how he has an actual reminder to match each one of her memories. It's all kinds of wonderful.
