Hm, so I had a nice long talk with myself (3 hours ish), and I got some stuff straightened out in my head.. I at least have some motivation now to do well in my classes, which is always good. And I know what I want my house to look like (keep in mind this is like 10 years from now when I, hopefully, will have money and a stable job and whatnot)
The house itself will be a good bit in from the road and will have a nice long driveway lined by trees (a traditional boulevard), and will curve into a cul-de-sac so that people can park their cars there and whatnot. The house itself will be a 1-story ranch-style house with a nice granite patio built into the back, with glass sliding doors opening onto that (with entry from both the master bedroom and the living room).
The kitchen area will be tiled and have a bar setup on the other side of the sink with barstools so you can eat right there. Across from the 'bar' will be the fridge, countertop going to the range along with an open pit for barbeques inside (naturally there'll be a chimney for the smoke from the BBQ pit). It is open to the living room and attached to the main hallway.
To one side are the bedrooms, master, directly ahead, and two guest bedrooms, one on either side of the master, (so it makes a T shape) from it, each bedroom having a bathroom of its own.
There'll be a library on the same side of the hall as the bedrooms, on the right side (so that one wall is shared with the living room). The shared wall will have a fireplace that joins the two rooms so that the fire can warm both rooms simultaneously, and if you're in one room, you can look into the other. The library will have the other walls lined with books (almost completely, with a staircase on a rail that can roll around the wall so you can get books up top, etc).
The living room will have a nice multi-piece, modular leather sofa set with it wrapping along the wall across from the fireplace and partly on the side to the hall. Next to the fireplace will be a wall-mounted HDTV with a DVD player mounted into the wall, and Dolby 6.1 surround sound.
On the other side of the hall, away from the bedrooms, will be a workout room with various exercise machines (treadmill, nautilus machines, etc) along with free weights. Across from that room will be the enterance to my garage. I hope to have a husky by then and he (or she) will be staying with me.
Both bedrooms will be wired with ethernet connectivity, as will the kitchen and the living room will have 3 jacks. There will also be 802.11g throughout the house for ease of use.
I think that I'll go with a white/sky-blue/forest-green color scheme for the interior of the house, with the exterior being primarily brick.
I want a lot of yard-space surrounding the house, with lots of trees (I love oaks and maples). In the backyard there'll be a lake (natural or artificial) with weeping willows surrounding it.
But yeah...that's my dream setup..heh. Oh.. and I don't think I'll ever get married or have a gf or anything like that... Just me and my dog living alone, with friends visiting from time to time (you'd damn well better visit ^^; )
...and the road becomes my bride
I have stripped of all but pride
So in her I do confide
And she keeps me satisfied
Gives me all I need
...and with dust in throat I crave
Only knowledge will I save
To the game you stay a slave
Rover wanderer
Nomad vagabond
Call me what you will
But I'll take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind anywhere
And I'll redefine anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home
...and the earth becomes my throne
I adapt to the unknown
Under wandering stars I've grown
By myself but not alone
I ask no one
...and my ties are severed clean
The less I have the more I gain
Off the beaten path I reign
Rover wanderer
Nomad vagabond
Call me what you will
But I'll take my time anywhere
I'm free to speak my mind anywhere
And I'll never mind anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home
But i'll take my time anywhere
Free to speak my mind
And I'll take my find anywhere
Anywhere I may roam
Where I lay my head is home
Carved upon my stone
My body lie, but still I roam
Wherever I may roam
Um...I think that's all lol... Okay, back to studying for the diffeq test that I have tomorrow x.x
<3 ^^
