It was a 5 hour drive from Seoul to Gyeongju... As the group rub their sleepy eyes and mount the bus we were off to the highway which begin a long journey to a province in South Korea... We knew it was going to be a long drive and many of the delegates decided to pull the curtains and shut their eyes to sleep... Me included...
As the bus travel out of Seoul and into the villages, the scene began to change... From the grey urban landscapes, we were moving towards a more tranquil place... It was about 40mins when i woke up from my nap only to be welcomed by a wonderous sight of mountains and mists...
The low clouds hung over the mountains acting as a background for the richness of the fields... And in my iPod, out came this song from Asa...
A sudden sense of wanderlust washes over me... We drove through and pass moutains, farms, fields, lakes... It's not a sight one can see in Singapore or any urban jungle which i'm prone to go... I felt like i was travelling in postcards where one beautiful scene followed another... A sense of peacefulness overcame me and i was huddled in my seat with my head by the window watching the world whizz by... It was a wonderful feeling...
What was more breath-taking was when we drove pass a field of wildflowers...
All it makes you want to do is to walk thru the field with your backpack and your outstretched arms and feeling the soft petals on your palms while the grass rustle against your thigh and the soft breezes dance on top of the land... Listening to the sweet callings of nature in the form of bird whistles, wind and grass...
It is one of these times when you feel really fortunate to be surrounded by what Mother Nature has given us...
