[ Vriska is being so generous right now, you have no idea. She's dropping all the irons just to fulfill John's pleading request to spend even five minutes of her time with him! Is there any other kid as magnanimous as her? She DOUBTS it ( Read more... )

[He's on the floor fiddling with the volume to get it just right and starting it up so all the boring company labels and stuff can play through while they're talking.]

Yeah, that's Jack Sparrow! Oops, I mean Captain Jack Sparrow, hehehehe. There are pretty much three main characters in this, and he's one of them!

The other two are part of his crew, right? Or enemies! It's got to be one of those if it's a pirate movie!

Haha, they are sort of their own thing and they're kind of his crew for a little while and sometimes they fight him but shhhhh! I don't want to spoil this awesome movie for you.

[He scrambles over to join her on the couch as it starts up because man he loves little Elizabeth, she is just the cutest thing in the world and this scene is pretty cool and a little creepy!!!]

Hey, hold on, why are they saving that kid? [ proper troll behaviour dictates that he probably deserved whatever happened, unless... ] Ohhhh, I know! They're taking him as a hostage, right?

Nope! It's actually pretty normal for humans to save each other when they can. Especially kids, since they are not evil or dangerous or anything. They really do just want to help him!

[nooooo elizabeth don't steal that necklace, so rude :c]

[ yessss elizabeth steal that necklace!!!!!!!! ]

I like her! She has good instincts! But hey, what do you mean kids aren't dangerous?

Oh, well, maybe troll kids are dangerous? Human kids aren't really dangerous at all, though. In fact, we are pretty much one of the least dangerous things I can think of! So if you rescue a kid and they turn out to be bad or something, they're still not a big deal, I guess.

--Man, I almost forgot, I totally brought popcorn! [BAM bowl of popcorn out of his sylladex but thankfully it just ends up nicely in his hands instead of firing across the room.]

[ luckily, coming from a world that has the same bizarre inventory rules as John's, Vriska is not at all surprised to see snacks appearing out of nowhere ]

Man, seriously? Earth human kids must have it pretty rough! How do any of you make it to adulthood?

[ And picking up a piece of popcorn speculatively... ] So do you eat this, or throw it, or what?

We don't have anything to fight except bullies, really. And our parents look after us most of the time!

[he throws a piece of popcorn in his mouth and crunches on it to demonstrate.] Haha, you eat it, silly!

Well duh, obviously you eat it! You think we don't have this on Alternia? Please! It was a joke, John!

[ she totally didn't know you eat it, but tosses some in her mouth as if she eats popcorn EVERY DAY she is so knowledgeable you don't even know. Her face contorts a bit as she tries to figure out what the fuck it tastes like while at the same time trying her best to chew it with her pointy shark teeth, BUT IN A COOL-LOOKING WAY, REALLY. ]

Oh! Whoops, I guess you got me, hehehe. I don't know anything much about Alternia! I didn't really think you guys would have popcorn and stuff.

[He giggles at her funny faces though-- Elizabeth is waking up yayyyy, and John sits up a little straighter suddenly.] Oh, right, so this movie is set in Victorian England! Uh, that's a time and a place on Earth, it is like the 1800s or something? Anyway, it just means we had no electricity or cars or sweet technology and all those things.

Yeah, we had a time like that too! But it was so long ago you don't even know. Alternia's history is so gigantically storied that your feeble human mind can't possibly grasp the chronology of its eras!... is how Karkat would talk about it, I don't really give a fuck.

Okay, that's cool! Similarities are good, that means it's easy to understand and stuff. Sometimes you guys don't sound so different to us, you know?

[Necklace, Victorian stuff, la di da corset time~]

Yeah, it's a pretty weird coincidence! I don't think we ever wore things like that, though. [ she points at the screen, laughing a bit ] That is just so impractical! How are you supposed to fight when you can't even breathe??

I'm pretty sure girls back then weren't supposed to do anything except stand around, look pretty and get married to some really rich noble guy. They didn't have to fight! ... Or uh, breathe, I guess! Hahaha.

Humans are so backwards! On Alternia, everyone knoooooooows that girls are just as dangerous as boys. Maybe even more!
