Weekend, Etc.

First of all, Belated Happy Birthday to inquibbler :)

I stayed offline all this weekend, so I wasn't able to greet you on time. Sorry about that, and I hope you had a wonderful birthday. All the best in the year ahead!

Also, belated Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrated it last week. Yum, turkey. (I ate a lot of turkey sandwiches while abroad last year. And even though it's more available here in the Philippines than turkey sandwiches, I drank a lot of orange juice that didn't taste like Tang.)
So I went to the party last Friday and it was OK. I had trouble getting to the venue, which sucked; and someone there made a total @$$ of himself and I really have no patience with people who do that, especially if they do it *under the influence*, which sucked as well. But it was nice to hang out with my friends and meet some nice, new people, and hopefully I'll never have to hang around the drunken @$$ again because everyone has seen that he's a cretin.

Last Saturday I played Sims. I did that last Sunday, too :-p shellebelle93 may be pleased to know that my Blanche and Peter Sims welcomed twins over the weekend. Poor Blanche had to do most of the child-rearing through the baby and toddler phases, but I made sure Peter did his part when he got home from work. (Hex and Maeve are still childless because Maeve wants to have a career first o_O)

In between the Sims playing, I did some more dolly sewing. Unfortunately, my fall/winter swap isn't going out this week because I haven't finished the extra dress I want to throw in. (And my mom says I should make a tiara. Easier said than done.) The major drawback to not having a specific design in mind when I start out is that everything gets put on hold when I find I want to add something that I don't have, so of course I have to go out and buy the additional materials I need before I can continue. I still have time to make sure it arrives at the recipient's by December 25th, but given the unpredictability of our postal system (even though sending isn't as stressful as receiving/waiting to receive), the earlier it goes out, the better.

In better news, the holiday cards that I have finished are going out this week, and I already have enough cards for the others on my list (including, of course, the people who asked for them - if you haven't yet and wouldn't mind a better-late-than-never card, please comment with your mailing address). Also, I don't seem to have very many preparations to make for this afternoon's meeting. Yay.

If things continue to go well, I'll be able to do some shopping this evening after work. And maybe the rest of this week will go pretty well, too (especially since we won't have work on Friday, yeehaw).
