Yes, Chloe does make him human. I've no idea what Lana makes him, but it isn't pretty and certainly not heroic. I like the POV, we so rarely get to hear Clark's voice.

Still trying to figure that out myself. I've been trying to find an excuse to write Lana POV, because I just want to play with her warped perspective. Problem is, I haven't seen enough consistency over the life of her character to get inside her head, and every time I think I might, they turn her into a plot device.

In all fairness, I have to say AlMiles might have done more of a disservice to her character over the years than Clark's or Chloe's. Even Pod!Chloe has some recognizable traits, and Clark, well, he may be morally ambiguous these days, but he still broods cute and wants to save everyone. Lana gets bounced around more than a freaking pin-ball in terms of her character's core values and general world view.

I'm glad you like the POV. He's a tough one to write - brooding and slightly clueless aren't natural bedfellows for me.
