Letter Meme
tehzo gave me the letter "D", so I had to come up with 10 things I love that start with the letter "D".
1. Dean Koontz - I picked up Lightning at 11, and didn’t stop till I’d read everything he’d published, even under pseudonyms. Whenever he publishes a new novel, I end up with a couple of copies, minimum, because my family knows that’s the guaranteed squee!gift. I love how his vivid imagery always propels the story forward - the momentum is addictive. He can swing from horror to comedy to tragedy in the span of a chapter, and every one of his stories leaves you with a greater truth. That’s too rare these days.
2. Daydreaming - Yeah, I was always the girl who spent more time staring out the window than paying attention in class. I never really needed to work too hard as a kid to get by in school, so I had a lot of free time on my hands.
3. David Kemper - Farscape’s lead evil genius. He respected his audience and tortured us so very well with the episodes he wrote. Everyone involved in that series was amazing.
4. Dawn - I live in Arizona, so I’m completely spoiled on the sky (it was my only disappointment in Hawaii). I’m no morning person, but the fresh feeling of dawn is my very favorite time of day.
5. Death Cab for Cutie - I’m currently enamored with this group. My favorite songs by them include “I Will Follow You into the Dark” “Talking Like Turnstiles” and “Summer Skin”. I have yet to find something by them I dislike, which is unusual for me.
6. Dusk - Arizona sunsets are everything they’re cracked up to be, and the grand finale is when the sky fades to cobalt and purple.
7. Dave Matthews Band - DMB has always owned me. Nothing more to say.
8. Dane Cook - “Thanks for the candy…” :P
9. Daisies - We lived on the road three months of every year when I was little, and I probably have the about a million picked daisies on my karma. African Daisies are my favorites, because they’re the coolest weeds ever.
10. December - Christmas, sales, New Year’s Eve, and the best time of year to live in Arizona. Need I say more?
