this summer i am taking part in this volunteer organization called Amigos de las Americas. its not church or school or government affiliated. but so i'm going to be spending six weeks in a rural part of mexico (Amigos sponsors programs all over Latin America, though), mostly teaching kids about hygiene, the environment, as well as doing all sorts of fun/learning activities, basically all kind of like a summer camp sort of deal. i also will be just interacting with the youth and the rest of the community, learning about their culture and what not. i will also be working on community based initiatives, in which we work with the community members to come up with their own community project ideas and then facilitate them in accomplishing them.

now, i will be leaving next thursday night, and im gonna miss california and everybody i know, so i reallllllly would be so incredibly happy if anyone wrote me a letter (and ill even try to send a reply). Here's my address:

Postage is 60 cents on standard letters to Mexico. I CANNOT RECIEVE PACKAGES, so please ONLY send LETTERS.
It takes about 2 weeks for mail to reach Mexico, and about 3 weeks for mail to go from Mexico to the U.S. So, you can start writing letters whenever you want.
