me and livejounrnal don't really hang out anymore. I really just keep it around to read other peoples' posts. And those other people consist of maybe like 6 people that I really care to read about. I'm a very cynical/bitchy person when it comes to some of the other ones. Not that I write anything worthwhile either. hence the me not writing much ever.
On an unrelated note, I'm going to BC on Thursday (Guam, i'll only see you if you jet to Boston). I'm excited, minus having to leave at 6:30am. Also, I wish I didn't have to go to school on Wednesday :(

In a far away place, there was a village entirely populated by gnomes. Just outside the village, there lived an evil wizard. One day, the wizard captured 100 gnomes and locked them in his dungeon because he hated them.
The wizard approached the hoard of gnomes and said “Tomorrow, I am going to place a hat on each of your heads. You will either be wearing a black hat or a white hat. Then, I will choose one of you at randomly, and I will ask ‘What color hat are you wearing?’ If you get the color correct, I will set you free. If you get the color wrong, I will kill you. Now, to prevent you from helping each other, I will also be casting a spell on all of you. The spell will make it so you cannot see the hat on top of your head, but you can see everyone else’s hat. However, you also cannot talk to each other, gesture to each other, or do anything really besides answer ‘black’ or ‘white’. So, don’t even think about helping your neighbor. Plus, I will call on you randomly. You will never know who the next gnome to be called will be. I hope you are good at guessing. Good luck tomorrow. You’ll need it.”
With that, the wizard left the gnomes alone in the dungeon to ponder their impending doom.
Here’s the problem: The gnomes can strategize now before the spell is cast. You must find a strategy that saves as many gnomes as possible. Answer how many gnomes you think you can save and what strategy you used (you can IM me if you don't want everyone to see your answer, lol).
