1 MORE WEEK AHHHHH
I was registering subjects for the coming semester yesterday. I'm starting to dread my Traditional Dance and Creative Arts class. The one I took on a whim since they don't have sports I WANTED ARCHERY DAMNIT Hell, I'll even take Gamelan. I refuse to go to camping, marching and learning self-defense AGAIN for another semester. It bores the crap out of me.
Made quesadillas stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella and roasted peppers. I've gotta say it's a bit too heavy for me. There's such a thing called TOO MUCH MEAT.
Also, chopinston, I remembered you wanted to try the soup I made the last time. So, here's the uhh, original recipe 8D;;
Chorba Hamra
An Algerian vegetable soup.
A
1 onion, chopped
1 bunch of coriander
1 carrot, diced
1 zucchini, diced
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
250g mutton/chicken, diced
Some vegetable oil*
____________________________________________________________
500g tomatoes, peeled & chopped
1.5 l of water
____________________________________________________________
A handful of chickpeas, soaked overnight
1 celery, diced
____________________________________________________________
1 tbsp tomato paste
Thin vermicelli
Salt to taste
*A little butter or ghee can be used to add flavour
1. Heat the oil in a pot. Cook all the ingredients in A for about 5-10 minutes.
2. Add tomatoes and then 1.5 liters of water. Cover and bring to a boil.
3. Add chickpeas and celery, and simmer for at least 1 hour.
4. When meat and chickpeas are tender, check seasoning and top up with water if necessary.
5. Add tomato paste and bring to a boil for a few minutes. Drop in the vermicelli and stir.
6. Remove from heat when vermicelli looks tender. Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander and mint.
Okay, obviously I improvised a lot to reduce the cooking time. Chickpeas, vermicelli and zucchini can be omitted since it does not alter the taste. I further reduced the cooking time by substituting the meat with meatballs. If using meatballs, add meatballs 15-20 minutes before serving time. Allow them to cook and check seasoning and consistency.
I seasoned the meatballs lightly with a pinch of coriander powder, cinnamon powder, chilli powder and salt. Nothing too robust since the soup is already overflowing with flavour.

Transformers 2 was.. not as awesome as the first. It is a sequel, it just can't beat the first since we watched the first with zero expectations. It did though give me goosebumps and I was watching it with my mouth open about 80% of the movie XD LOVED JETFIRE SCENES. JETFIRE YOU OLD GIT ILU ♥ His British accent did not help at all, I was all giddy whenever he's on.
It was kinda disappointing to see Optimus being helped when he's supposed to be the AWESOME alien robot leader :C It's as if he was reduced to being human. ROBOTS CAN'T DIE DAMNIT, THEY NEED TO BE AWESOME AND COOL FOREVER. Shia was wonderful as usual, though I can't help but to find the brain probe part uhh, hot M tendencies is showing OTL The battle scenes let me down a bit, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting but still very enjoyable and made me mouth out FUCK when something cool happens XD
Ahhhh, I'd watch it again in the cinemas just to watch the battle scenes in full stereo. I'm partly glad they didn't emphasize too much on the robots from the first movie and the new characters didn't disappoint at all, especially the bikes and the twins. GOD, THEY WERE EPIC COOL ♥
