Working Out

Feb 02, 2009 07:50

I wish I didn't tend towards being naturally sedentary, since my metabolism isn't really equipped to deal with that very well. That being said, once again I'm back on the fitness train.

I'll be honest and say I'll probably have to deal with going on and off it all my life. I doubt I'll ever be a size 6 (or 8) and I'd probably have to work really hard to keep that. But I'd at least like to be a size 12 (relatively, since non-knit items really have to be altered to fit me right anyway, so it's not like the size I buy means anything) and honestly in decent shape.

I'm doing "100 Days of Fitness" that the Field House is sponsoring. Basically you get a 'shoe' for activities (1 shoe for running/walking a mile, doing weights for 30 minutes, general cardio for 30 mins, jumping rope for 15 mins; 2 for taking the classes they offer (boot camp, the circuit class I've started, etc.). The goal is to get 100 shoes by the end of 100 days (sometime around April).

It's a bit silly, but a cute incentive to work out (there will be prizes, too! haha), especially since they upped the cheese and have a 'football field' drawn on the back wall with the different markers and the finish, where they'll move a shoe with your name/pseudonym as you get more shoes.

So, my plan for working out, as long as I can keep it up, is:

Mondays
- 6:30am - Run (currently re-doing the Couch to 5K plan)
- 12pm-12:45pm - Total Circuit class (strength training)

Tuesdays
- 1:15-1:45 - Generic Cardio of choice

Wednesdays
- 6:30am - Run (currently re-doing the Couch to 5K plan)
- 12pm-12:45pm - Total Circuit class (strength training)

Thursdays
- 1:15-1:45 - Generic Cardio of choice

After that, it gets nebulous, depending on if I work my usual flex-schedule (10 hour days Mon-Thursday with Friday off) or if I have to work on Friday.

Fridays I work
- 6:30am - Run (currently re-doing the Couch to 5K plan)

Fridays I don't work
- ... Not sure. Perhaps just go in sometime during the day and continue the C25K

Saturdays and Sundays will have at least one day be a day of rest. Not sure about the other one yet. We'll see how this goes

fitness, 100 days of fitness, gym
