I've been thinking about how I would like to adopt a senior guinea pig when I get a job (aka: have money). There are hardly any senior guinea pigs up for adoption, since most people don't bother bringing them to a shelter and instead just let them die or throw them out to the wild. Add that to the fact that most people want cute baby piggies if they do go to a shelter, and it's even more grim for old pigs. It's not their fault that they're not cute babies.
I saw this today:

Okay. She is not the prettiest guinea pig. Hell, I'll be honest and say that she's pretty damn ugly. But look at that poor baby. "She has scarring on her body from severe bite wounds, a skin aliment, and is underweight".
I want to adopt her so badly. She's in South Carolina, though. :( I bet they wouldn't offer transportation/safe shipping up here and I can't afford to drive there. I'm sitting here crying, because of this poor piggie.
