This past week flew by at a much greater speed than I imagined, partly due to the fact that I have an ethnographic study due in two days that required truck load of research and I spent my week running around to acquire it. I even surveyed the class on their beliefs about the paranormal and surprisingly received fairly serious results back.
So to get out of the apartment yesterday and to just let my hypothesis percolate in my noggin a little longer I took a stroll around the IU campus, particularly around the old crescent. I toted along my trusty camera and took pictures of all the golden foliage that is now prevalent in the trees. It has been an unusually warm fall this year, resulting in a later changing of leaf color and a happy little tornado in Southern Indiana that has killed 18 people and injured 203 others. According to my friends last night we had a terrific thunderstorm which I unfortunately slept through *sigh*.
Cockroaches like banana bread and I sorrowfully discovered that fact last night. I had a couple of friends over to watch "Ju-on" aka "the Grudge" as a final step of my research when Allie walked into my kitchen and made a little "eep" sound. Curious, I investigated to only find a very large roach sitting on my fresh out of the oven banana bread. T_T Theresa tried to thwart the roach's life but he escaped into my stove. I am glad I made two loafs of banana bread, but I am paranoid to into my kitchen. Meanwhile the next roach inspection isn’t for another week.
BTW, amazingly enough I watched Ju-on 3 times yesterday and it hasn't affected me at all. A fact which I find odd since I abhor scary movies.
Another odd fact is I dislike citrus drinks but absolutely live off of (embarrassingly so) Mt.Dew, which is a citrus flavored drink.
I have come to the conclusion that life wouldn't be worth living without oddities. And I, myself am full of them.
