Never mess with a sicilian when death is on the line!

So I FINALLY decided on a halloween costume, yay! Out of all the costumes on my list [yeah, I write lists about random things like that] I decided that Rosie the Riveter was my best bet. I can make it on my own, I could buy all the supplies on eBay or at some discount store, and best of all, I wouldn't have to resort to any of the tacky slut costumes, which are pretty much the only costumes available for teenage girls nowadays.

...but I think I already ranted about the tramp-like attire from Leg Avenue and such costume lines. I'm using my older sister's Paypal account on eBay because she is the only one left with an adequate one. My mom has to pay Angela back for that, but hopefully I can pay her back instead because...well, I got a job at K-Mart! AHH! I know, it's freakin crazy. I haven't started yet, but I'll be training for it soon after Halloween. Back to my costume. I've been trying to practice putting a headband on my head - the way old housewives and women factory workers did in the forties and fifties - and for some reason I'm struggling. I mean, I HAVE been practicing with my old Spongebob scarf, being that it is the only suitable scarf I own. Ah well, I managed to put it together some what ok, I just need to pin down the tops so that it doesn't stick out too much.

John Lennon's 68th birthday was yesterday. Yoko asked everyone to give a moment of silence for him at 4pm [EP time] but I was on the phone with a friend and couldn't :( I felt bad, I haven't celebrated beatle birthdays in a while. I also missed when they put The U.S. vs John Lennon on VH1 Classic yesterday too. I did say "Happy Birthday" to him before I went to bed though. Ehh, maybe I'll watch A Hard Day's Night later...I'm sorry John!

AH! I almost forgot to write about my job interview today. So, I bought this cute long green knitted sweater at Kohls a week ago and when I tried to wear it on Monday with some cute black leggings, my mom suggested that I wear it to my interview on Friday instead. I thought about it before she suggested it, but I didn't think it was the formal outfit they were looking for. The Human Resource Representative for the Kmart I applied to said to not wear sneakers or a t-shirt or jeans, so I decided that the lengthy sweater was appropriate. I was so nervous the day before that I looked up common job interview questions online! GAH how pathetic, but at least I was prepared. The only thing that sucked was the manager and HRR didn't even ask me what my strengths and weaknesses are! Damn, I was so looking forward to that question, too! I forgot to tell them that I like performing in plays. That would have gave away some sort of a social secureness on my part. Anyway, the HRR lady was pretty funny but very straight forward. The first question she asked me was if I knew what the new Daughtry song is called [ xD ] I said no, politely. Apparently she thought I was too polite because she thought I needed to be more "obnoxious" in order to be qualified. I would have talked more but it seemed like she kept making phone calls and typing some important paper on her computer during the interview; how could I interrupt with playful conversation if she was wrapped up in work? However, the store manager didn't think so. I mean, if the manage is willing to train me in early November, then I'm pretty sure I won that round! My mom and sister were pissed that the HRR suggested for me to be more obnoxious and "prove her wrong" because it is only my first job. Not only that, but I'm applying for a position as cashier! I understand that I need to be aggressive in sales, but "obnoxious" is not exactly what I'm going to put the customers through. Ascertiveness, yes, but I will not be entering that highest level of rudeness. I'm sorry. Besides that, she gave me her card and told me that she loves to be proven wrong. Lucky for her, I loooove to be right.
