PIGGIES:
I'm still hand-feeding the two black babies a couple times a day. One always seems to scarf it up; the other has a sip or two then starts wheeking like he'll be abandoned if he doesn't get back to mom and the crew.
The little roan's eye continues to improve. I think it was poked (probably with the crappy stemmy hay I bought - don't get me started. It was sort of conical and red, then the swelling went down and it was just cloudy. Now the cloudiness seems to be clearing. I hope he regains all his sight. While his color is certainly show quality, I'm no longer excited by his coat. I think it will turn out to be average to good, but not competitive enough for NY.
Meanwhile, Ramona's new baby (
http://www.shirefolk.net/news) seems to have a fantastic coat. His color seems barely showable, but his coat is really thick and kinky so I'd be willing to give showing him a try. He's really cute too, and not very skiddish.
Damn, a flea just bit my ankle. A pox on those nasty beasts! I just dusted the house too. We'll probably all die of pesticide-induced cancer and the damn fleas will live on anyway. Heh, suck on my cold, lifeless corpse you creepy critters.
WORK: My co-worker said she had trouble turing a banner into a button today, so she sent it to me. I made a decent button, and she posted it on our Web site. A while lateer the boss came along and told her to tell our artist to do a button. She said it was already done. "oh, did YOU do it?" he asked. "No." Did [the artist] do it then?" "No." Then she told him I did it. I was waiting for it to hit the fan about how I should be too busy... but he didnt say anything. And this after a raging b-----d of a morning when we all wanted to strangle him. Later he told me he wanted me to put up a revised form on the Web site instead of the one that was on there. He left it in the server drop box for me. About two minutes later I was done. I opened Fetch, deleted the old form, changed the name on the new one to the old one's name, and loaded it. Voila. I should have hit that annoying, stupid big red button thingy he actually BOUGHT at Staples. It says" That was easy." and seems to lure children and annoying adults, particularly when we're on the phone.
HOME: My old friend from reporter days is visiting. He and H strated early and finished up with whiskey. I think H is in bed and my friend is passed out on the passenger seat of our ancient Corolla with his feet hanging out the door. Man, he's gonna itch tomorrow
WEATHER: Meanwhile, we're supposed toget the remains of hurricane Ernesto tomorrow; heavy rain and the temp not to get out of the 60s. Yay. There's anothe weekend where I don't get my gardening done. Next weekend is a cavy show...
