Up in the morning, and dug out the cars. The forecast promised about another one inch accumulation max for the rest of the morning, so set off late and slowly to work. Boy were they wrong! Came home a bit late to find C (home a bit early) had already cleared most of the driveway but there was still enough left I could help, and I should say we had a good foot in total-maybe more before settling. But it's all stopped now, and will most of it melt over the weekend, so that's that. Must also give due props to the plow crews who kept on top of things and had the roads nice and clear by the time of my drive home.
It shows just how big a history nerd I am that the idea of a Prussian invasion of Ireland in 1807 (of anywhere in 1807) struck me as more even more ridiculously anachronistic than a runaway locomotive in 1807. B points out that absolutely no one looks to whiskey ads for historical truthiness, but still I am indignant.
