Things seen: Beasts of the Southern Wild, which is a powerful film and visually wonderful, but struck us as not fully developed in story terms. I have no argument with it being nominated for several major-category Oscars, but I don't expect it will win many of them.
Things bought at Hobby Bunker storewide sale:
- Leverage the Roleplaying Game, both because I've gotten interested in the show ("hooked" is too strong a word, but I'll definitely catch it if it's on), and because
umbran said interesting things about the Cortex Plus system
- Field Commander: Napoleon, because Napoleon and solitaire are both appealing, and the maps and counters are gorgeous (but at $100, definitely waited for the storewide sale)
Things trimmed: beard.
Things de-trimmed: the tree.
Things washed: several loads of laundry, at least one load of dishwasher.
Things eaten: Mostly Chinese, meatloaf, and leftovers of same. But B made some tiramisu (from the Italian tirami su, lit. 'pick me up'), and maybe something new and different tonight.
