Midweek blatherings

Eddie Izzard! Dress To Kill! Flags, "tea and cake or death," Stonehenge! Engelbert Humperdinck, Scrabble, grade-school French! And so much more. It has been long years, I think, since I laughed so much. Doubleplus recommended. And quite unlike so many comics, at the end I just want a chance to sit down and talk with him for an evening - well, talk, and drink and sing and play Scrabble. Although, after seeing his guest spot on Top Gear, not perhaps go driving with him.

Top Gear: now there's a show that turns out to be more fun to watch than I had ever suspected. "No one has ever called us to ask, what's the fastest way to get from London to Oslo? And now they never will, because we'll show you."

Anybody else think "Aliens with Special Status" would be a great name for a band?

Add to the list of "games that keep me up late": Battle for Normandy. And that was just the Omaha Beach landing.

"I whipped out my derringer and shot at once." "At Wuntz? What he do?" "What he do? Who do?" "Wuntz do hoodoo? How do he do hoodoo?" "Once do who do? What? What!? ... Aaargh-if I had my trusty derringer here, sir-"
