Shortage of Percocet resolved in the most embarrassing possible way: turns out Mom had miscounted. So she's OK, if embarrassed. (She was having other problems with counting and simple reckoning over the weekend too; have to watch to see if it's creeping old age, or just the Percocet.)

Waves of visitors today: one Liza, acquaintance of Mom's who went through the same surgery last February, but whose treatment since has been completely different; one VN; one PT. After I left, Libby and Lilly/Lucy; then Nancy McI. So she's not going to be totally alone.

Ran several errands on Spring Street. Noted that some of the buildings are still recognizable, even if they have different names on them (e.g., the bakery, Renzi's bookstore, and the Co-op - reading left to right - are now Thai Gardens, an art gallery, and Spice Root the Indian restaurant); some of the same names are there, but the buildings have had thorough make-overs (e.g., the Newsroom, McClellan's, Goff's); and there's a good deal of total newness (e.g., C&L's Gulf station is now Tunnel City coffeehouse). Only things still in place and looking the same are Hart's Pharmacy (a modest make-over) and the post office (Now with Flowerpots!). You can't go home again.

Also, the old Howard Johnson's is now the Williamstown Financial Center. We didn't need a financial center when I was growing up!

On the drive back, noticed considerable progress on the Erving bypass, but at the expense of severely backing up traffic. (To be fair, this may be the first time I've driven through during the week.)

Back now. To sleep, perchance to dream. To work tomorrow.
