I don't know if anyone here remembers the Emmy- and Peabody-winning series Wishbone, about the "little dog with the big imagination"-I figure most of my friends were too old to be watching it for themselves in the mid-90s, but didn't yet have kids old enough to be watching it either. Anyway, we watched the four-episode disk available from Netflix, and while none of my bestest favorites were in this set (like The Imaginary Invalid, Pride and Prejudice, or Faust), and while they didn't include the brief "making-of" clip at the end of each episode, still it was a great reminder of what an awesomely cool show it was at the time.
Also watched the Robot Chicken Star Wars Special II (the one that tracked the bounty hunters especially, and the 'Little Orphan Annie' joke); not quite as awesome nor as literary an experience, still lotsa fun.
And speaking of sf movie geekery, have figured out my recommended system for watching the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost Paul as a drinking game: each viewer picks one fandom-Star Wars, Star Trek, ET, Close Encounters-and you each take a shot when your domain gets a shout-out. (Maybe allow one 'Miscellaneous' category as well, for Lord of the Rings, Alien, Indiana Jones, and others that get lighter coverage.) But it was major geekly fun even without the drinking.
And now the kids are distributed back to their various colleges (P even put in a brief appearance, but did not stay here) and things are quieting down again.
