Woowoowoo, victory!

Yeah, so a long day today. I got up at 6, and went down to Shoreline to work the polls as a scrutineer. Basically I have 6 lists of declared supporters, each with a number on the voter's list. The District Returning Officers will keep track of who has voted, and we cross-reference our partial lists with theirs. In theory, we're supposed to listen to them call out numbers one by one, but in practice, I just loafed and read (finished the Descent and a couple chapters of ?Que Tal? - Yeah, I'm relearning spanish. Might as well, right? Also, my CD that I had placed a hold on is now in the library, how nice.) I hope I'm in the area to pick it up. Anyways, at semi-regular intervals, we phone in our lists to the office, who then call those people who haven't voted yet. Easy as pie. I took a break at noon to go eat all the Chinese food I could, swapping off with Dina, my direct subordinate. Later in the day Sund came down and hung out, it was great to see him. We watched the election results come in after our last phone-in, then I returned for the count, which finished by about 8 or so. I went out to the party, where it turns out that our candidate won, by nearly 2000 votes, even though the scrutineers from other parties smugly cited polls suggesting he'd finish third. Ha! To tell you the truth, I'd be happy weith either Garrison or Martin, just as long as the Tories lost. Which they did. I just hope the NDP and Liberals can reach the 155 seat threshold, install Chuck Cadman as speaker, and then start governing comme il faut. Best thing for the country, in my humblest. Maybe, we'll even see some electoral reform. Hehe, well, we can always hope. There are still too many ridings that are just too close, we'll know Wednesday I guess. Yeah, so that's good news.

Also good news, my sister is home! she's around until late this week. We are happy to see each other. She stole my pillows though. I gave her her birthday bike and an Italy shirt, and It'll be nice to hang out.

Also, best of all, Jen is back in Fort Nelson tomorrow. I am eager to talk to her. In fact, I'll go to sleep now so I can talk to her sooner.
