Oh dear! It's that time of the year again...
So this year I have been very lax in updating.
I can make excuses like "I've been studying, in a formal sense, for the first time in decades and it's not so easy..." whinge, moan, complain... but the real thing is I'm slack.
Comments encourage me to post more (hint, hint).
Year in review?
OK - Full time study for Diploma in Event Management - pretty much sorted - passed the external exam which is the key to EVERYTHING EVER!!! - have applied to do the Hospitality Management Diploma next semester as there are so many common subjects I need only do 5 or 6 units for the double qualification which makes working in a hotel or chain in functions and events a very real possibility.
I have discovered my best skills are in concepts and marketing and may go on to do more marketing, or the degree course in events - not sure yet, but I like being a blue haired somewhat older than they expect student and doing well generally, plus my Official Cripple status gives me free parking on campus. There has to be something good coming out of arthritis, so I guess that's it for now.
Benj thebenj still smiles like his jaw will fall off ALL THE TIME. It's so cute!
Rhiannon regency_rhi wears a matching expression and they just warm up rooms.
It was great to see Jamie and Alice and Avery at the Novotel when Supanova was on.
Worked at Supanova on the celebrity photos and have picture evidence of Jared Padalecki and Jewel Staite cuddles. All good.
Jenn astridthemighty and I went to Nullus Anxietas ( with Terry Pratchett) in Melbourne in February, and since have been to many great shows including Priscilla and Rocky Horror and Shout, Opera Australia season and Company B season plus gigs like Panic at the Disco, Amanda Palmer, Fall Out Boy and Kanye West, mostly also accompanied by Mish mishka_jayne. Still have Public Enemy in 2008.
This worked well and have booked more of similar for 2009, including The Who as I saw them at the old stadium in Sydney when I was Jenn's age, Leonard Cohen and of course Fall Out Boy. And Stray Cats. There's probably more, but I forget...
Anyway, send me a snarky little comment if I have ignored you or misrepresented you in any way. I may not make it up to you but I will feel bad, if that helps at all.<\lj-cut>
