Community Elation
Wow. What a scene in Capital Hill, Seattle and for that matter the US last night. I had woken from my nap and had heard all the commotion outside while watching CNN. Buses and cars were stopped in the streets because thousands of people had flooded Broadway & John to Broadway & Pine. People were actually singing the national anthem from their balcony next to my building. Horns honking, flag and Obama poster waving, lots of good vibes, smiles, and shouts of joy were about last night. Even random hugs and high fives were in play. I hadn't experienced an election quite like this. I closed the night at the Cha Cha where the same vibe was. Truly amazing.
