Music through the years

I've decided on hiring a DJ for the wedding reception, as mine and Joe's musical tastes are so eclectic (and largely non-overlapping, surprisingly) that a band, while fun I'm sure, just won't cut it.

In preparing to meet with the DJ, I'm trying to put together a list of songs and music that I really enjoy, and that I think some to most of the guests will enjoy, so I've been paging through my memories, trying to think of music that did or didn't make it into my collection, which reminds me of times past.

As I come across music, it all seems to be falling into a few major categories and timeframes.  It's been fun and nostalgic to chart my life by the music I like:

late 80s - early 90s gothic-industrial-dance
Nine Inch Nails: "Head Like a Hole"  "Down In It"
Sisters of Mercy: "This Corrosion"
The Smiths: "How Soon is Now"
Jane's Addiction: "Jane Says"
Bauhaus: "In the Flat Field"
Siouxsie &  the Banshees "Kiss Them For Me"
Depeche Mode "Enjoy the Silence" "Personal Jesus" "I Feel You"
The Cure "Love Song" "Fascination Street"

mid to late 90s electronic dance-pop
The Prodigy "Firestarter"
Chemical Brothers "Setting Sun"
Underworld "Born Slippy"
Funky Green Dogs "Fired Up"
Luscious Jackson "Naked Eye"
Duran Duran "Out of My Mind" and "Come Undone"
Moby, the entire album "Play" especially "Porcelain" and "South Side"

New Orleans associated music
Kermit Ruffins just about anything, but especially "It's Later Than You Think"
Louis Armstrong "What a Wonderful World" and just about everything else
Beau Jocque and the Hi-Rollers "Cornbread"
Professor Longhair "Tipitina"
The Clash "London Calling"
The Specials "A message to you Rudi"
The Supremes: "I Hear a Symphony" (or pretty much anything from the Supremes)

last 5 years or so
Modest Mouse "Float On" and "Ocean Breeze Salty"
Muse "Supermassive Black Hole"  "Knights of Cydonia" (and just about everything else by Muse)
Incubus "Drive"
Barry White - pretty much anything
Gorillaz "Feel Good Inc"
Gnarls Barkely "Crazy"
Amy Winehouse "Back to Black"

And I'm still looking for just the right, slightly offbeat song to possibly do a first dance to.  Any suggestions?
