Boy, am I glad March is almost here. Not that March itself is a guarantee of better weather but it's one step closer to spring, and I cannot wait. Today is snow, sleet and a high wind advisory. Yeah, I'm done with winter.

Dear Laura,
I have been reading "HOW IT ENDS" for the past week.
Today, I had about 100 pages left... and was supposed to go to bed hours ago. But instead kept going, just one more section...
I have been crying for what feels like days. I cannot even express right now, so shortly after this journey, how much this book--just like LEFTOVERS and SUCH A PRETTY GIRL before it--has affected and touched me, has echoed at times my own thoughts and what I have gone or am going through (though, I am happy that mostly this time around the "what I am going through" is more along the lines of how Louise and Peter are in their youth together).
I love you and I hate you for these beautiful stories that make me unable to stop the tears. I'm still going even now! How did you do that? ^_^
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are an absolute inspiration, and a brilliant storyteller. I am so lucky to have read this wonderful, heart-wrenching story.
Much love to you and to yours,
Olivia
ps: After reading this, and realizing it was set in NJ, and then that you had grown up in Central Jersey, I was curious if you had grown up nearby where I currently live... And yes. You grew up about 20 minutes north of where I am. I hope that in the future you might find yourself scheduled for a tour stop at the Princeton Barnes & Noble or some other local indie store... Until then, I'll look forward to meeting you!
