schumann used to write musical reviews under the guise of poetic fiction, creatively introducing colorful pretend characters--- the most popular were named florestan and usebius. Through them he allowed his opinions to be heard about the new music of his time~ I am in the library entertaining myself with them!!(and studying for a music history test) here are some of schumann's words (above). aaaaaaaaaaahh how i love schumann.................
