And now, in a move that's totally speaking of ME.
My decision is: neither the doublet and breeches, nor the purple and gold dress. I'll be making ... Ready?
Limey Goodness. Yeah, the lime green and blue velvet dress I've been kicking around for years now.
Reasoning? While the idea of men's clothing on a woman is HAWT, as the 'stah says, I've never done a doublet and breeches. Plus, there's a LOT that needs to be done in that outfit. With the purple and gold dress, it's 'been there, done that' and in looking at the sketch, there's nothing really stretching me there. Sure, it'd be all perfecting what I've done and I'm way for that, but... eh...
With Limey Goodness, it's a bit of both - work I've never done before (cutwork on the sleeves) - and work that I know I can do hands down and feel comfortable about submitting it for competition.
So, When I get some time this afternoon, I'll photograph the fabrics and the trim, get a sketch (I hope) scanned and get it all posted.
Oh, I'm also waiting to hear if this version of a write up will be accepted for judging. If not, OK, y'all still get to read along as I go.
ETA - they want a regular document submission. That's fine with me. I felt a little hinkie about leaving my LJ open completely anyway. It'll be twice as much work getting that document ready, but hey, it's worth it.
