1. Grab the nearest book. (N.B. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag 5 people.
'But they will see it all in obscurity and await its end, groaning deeply within themselves because they persevered in unbelief and did not know the true God. For they neither worshiped the Living God in the Old Testament before the institution of baptism, nor received the remedy of baptism in the Gospel, but continued under the curse of Adam's fall with its penalty of damnation. And therefore they are already judged for the crime of infidelity.'
Wasn't that cheery? It's from 'Hildegard of Bingen: Selections from her Writings'. Research - I swear I'm not that converted. Though I am thinking of writing the play of her life. I'm trying to deside if this was a good book to have or not. I was honest. Though usually the book that is neares to me is either the Igmar Bergman biography I'm reading (boring - fantastic film maker, boring book) or the trashy historical romance novel. I'm going to check what page 123 has to offer from the bodice-bursting highlands...
(time passes)
Actually, it's pretty good. The final sentance would have been 'I was served an object for my supper that the steward told me was called a "haggis."'
oh well - Hildegardian theology instead.
