This is my own personal recipe and people seem to love it.
What you'll need:
Gyoza Wrappers
Three chicken breasts
Scallions
Hot Banana Peppers
Chinese Cabbage
Rice Vinegar
Sesame Seeds
Soy Sauce
Salt
Pepper
Garlic (opt)
Toasted Sesame Oil
Water
Step 1-
Cut the chicken into small chunks... add just a TAD of rice vinegar and let them sit until you are ready to put everything in the wrapper.
Step 2-
Chop the scallions, hot banana peppers, and cabbage. Make sure while chopping the hot banana peppers that you wear gloves... getting that stuff in your eyes is not fun... and for my friend... unfortunately it got in her nose... YAI!
Step 3-
Mix the veggies together, adding a tad of salt and pepper to the mix. At this time, you can add garlic... if you'd like.
Step 4-
At this point, you can add the veggies to the chicken. Mix them well.
Step 5- (the long and grueling part)
Add the mix to the gyoza wrappers... this will be time consuming... may I suggest putting on a Johnny Concert, Musical, Movie or Drama for background noise to pass by the time.
Step 6-
Ok... now that you're done fiddling with the wrappers, it's time to prep the pan! Make sure that the sesame oil covers the bottom of the pan. Also, be sure to have a lid that fits the pan... because you're gonna steam 'em later!
Step 7-
Once your pan is nice and hot, add the gyoza CAREFULLY! Oil can and will splatter on you! Keep an eye on the gyoza so that they don't burn on the outside. It should only take a few minutes to brown up the outside.
Step 8-
Now add just a bit of water... 1/4 cup really, than place the lid on top of the pan, covering the gyoza. Wait about 4 minutes than take them out of the pan.
TA DA! GYOZA!
Mix the soy sauce and a bit of rice vinegar together and sprinkle sesame seeds over the gyoza and EAT!!! YEEM!
