So, I sent an e-mail to the guy in charge of the Pamplin Scholarship today with a paragraph about a Native American speech I went to so that I can keep the scholarship and he asked me if my GPA was high enough to be eligible for Honors because he would love to recruit me because I had such a passion for history and learning. And it got me thinking, my goal for the end of this year was to be Honors by the end of the Spring, well I am not. I need a 3.5 and right now, well my GPA is not that. haha
So, I am retaking Chemistry next Fall and I figured up my GPA if I pull a B in that and an A in my 4 English Classes and a B in Math and a B in Women and Science next fall, I will be 3.4. (Assuming I get what I think I am this semester). And then one more similar semester and I will have a 3.5. So, my short-term goal is to be in Honors by the end of next Spring and to learn good study habits and to just do school. I am not working next Fall because I am taking 19 credit hours and I am not coming home every weekend, once a month probably because I need to put my head in my books and realize that home is meant for breaks and every now and again trips, not for every weekend (plus gas prices are insane)!
That and to have my first edit of my novel done before I go back to school in the Fall are my current goals. The Honors is going to be hard because I have virtually no study skills, in high school I rarely studied and when I did, my mom helped me. So, I need a break from work and all that to just focus on school and when I have that in check, I will go from there. I don't want to just slide under the radar or barely get by. I might want to go to Grad School or do something of that nature and my current GPA won't get me there. So yeh, yay to study sessions and editing novels!
