I woke up this morning and tried to call Adrian, only to be forwarded to the Verizon financial blah blah blah line.
You know, it never occured to me to actually PAY the bills that they send me. Hmph. I paid up, but my phone is suspended for the next day or two until the payment processes. Gay sauce. So I'm unable to make outgoing calls. Sorry Adrian!
So I got up, grumbling about my phone and rueing the day, just to find rolls of toilet paper, chunks of clumpy smelly kitty litter AND my bottle of permanent red hair dye chewed up and splattered all over the living room carpet.
*sigh*
So, craving internet access, I walked to Mikeys house to mooch. The walk in the rain was pleasant at first, but I didn't wear a sweater and it got pretty cold. And wet. And now I'm sneezing and can't seem to get warm.
Once I reached the Offermans I woke Mike up only to find that his computer wasn't working. So then we walked to Adrians to use his computer. Just to find that he wasn't home. *double sigh*
So then I walked home in the rain while taxis that I couldn't afford swarmed around me like vultures. Once I walked in my front door, I looked at the mess in the living room that I didn't bother to touch when I woke up, and then.. rather than get to work on it.. I felt wildly compelled to clean my ring.
I can't remember HOW you're supposed to clean jewelry, but I somehow got it into my head that vinegar would do the trick. I'm not sure if I remembered that from somewhere, or if I was divinely inspired, or if I'm just going crazy... but vinegar works miracles on sterling silver.
I was so thrilled with the results that I cleaned every article of jewelry I own. Which only consists of three rings and two necklaces... but in the midst of ruined carpets and kitty shitties I was giddy as hell.
And then I sat out on the fire escape in the rain eating raspberry yogurt, watching the water rings in puddles in the alley and sniffling from the cold.
I came in early to work so I could write from the control room computer, where I am now. I haven't showered, my fingers smell like vinegar and my phone isn't working. But I'm happily apathetic.
Okay, back to work with me!
