Nah, I bet his wife is at least average. God forbid she get more than "hail damage on her ass" and this idiot would probably degrade her every chance he had.

That article is clearly for entertainment purposes only.

Eh, I guess it worked. The only thing is, I know a lot of people who actually think this way (unfortunately.) I also know that I'll sometimes get a hostile vibe if I'm in the free weights section of the gym It's like wolves pissed all over that equipment or something. D:

They're just defensive because you're outlifting them. ;)

I think I got dumber from reading that article. And I'm feeling this weird urge to twirl my hair and giggle.

No I'm not.

I'm betting this is the kind of guy who spends ten minutes flexing in front of the mirror after every set...while blocking the freeweights, and possibly simultaneously standing in the squat rack.

My favorite part:

"But even if she is capable at lifting, chances are she isn’t going to be as strong as you or want to follow a similar program."

Teh wimminz is weak! And we are better off keeping that way, or they'll realize our two hours of bench pressing, curlz and babe-checking aren't making us stronger!

Sounds like he's into the buttboddy/workout partner paradigm, where two guys follow each other around the gym, doing the exact same routine with the exact same poundages. I always found that kind of... twee.

You Need Guy Time

hehehhehehehe "guy time"! *snort*

I know but the idea that to be an effective workout partner you have to lift the same weight and like all the same machines or something is so silly I can't even stand it.

I totally once worked in with a guy on the squat rack who was done with his warm up and doing his workout and totally let me work in starting with my warm up and it worked fine. Lots of plate moving, but that was hardly the end of the world. It was his idea too so apparently my appearance had not yet deteriorated to the point where menfolk needed to give me a wide berth.

Heh.

When the Duchess and I used to go to the gym together, it pretty much consisted of arrived in the same vehicle, spotting one another as needed, and leaving together, so pretty much every concern in the article seems silly to me.
