Thoughts on "Purgatory"

Last night's L&O: CI was absolutely amazing! ♥

So many awesome moments! The stand out for me was Kathryn Erbe's acting, which was superb, imo. (I had flashbacks to the Bishop eps all throughout the episode, esp when Eames was there looking at Bobby's desk so sadly) The expression on her face when she broke into the room and found herself pointing her gun at Bobby && the look on her face when she realized he'd been undercover the whole time were two standouts, but she was also so heartbreaking when she tore into Bobby for not telling her.

((Rough transcription of THAT SCENE))
BOBBY: "Eames... I'm sorry"
ALEX: "That's all you have to say to me? I could have blown your head off back there. Eight years I've had your back and I don't even get the courtesy of a phone call!"
BOBBY: "I, I was trying to protect you."
ALEX: "Since when?"
BOBBY: "Well, the rules.."
ALEX: "Rules, " *laughs sadly* "You've got to be kidding me. You managed to get word to the captain, you contacted the Chief of D's, but just not your partner?"
BOBBY: "This is my only way back. I mean, how else am I supposed to get my shield? You're not getting it."
ALEX: "I get it. I get it. You're the genius, and I just carry your water, right? You have any idea how many times I've lied for you, covered your ass?"
BOBBY: "I was in a deep hole here.."
ALEX: "And who's fault was that? All your wounds are self-inflicted."
BOBBY: *shuffles* "I tried not to drag you into this one.
ALEX: "And what would you have done if I hadn't burst through that door? If it wasn't me, you'd be dead."
BOBBY: *long look, Bobby looks down, sighs* "I didn't look for this."
ALEX: *nods* "You could have fooled me, Detective. I hope it was worth it."
*Eames leaves*

How long have we been waiting for a scene like this, an actual argument resulting from an on screen conflict? (I know I was expecting one after "The War at Home," but never got it.) While this scene broke my heart, I felt so happy that we were actually seeing it on screen, instead of having to resort to fanfic. (though there is some very good fanfic out there ;D)
I was also pleased with the overall episode, and our two favorite detectives. :) While Bobby wasn't in as good shape as I hoped, Alex seemed to be in excellent form. I was happy with her little comments, like the the psychiatrists office when she says, "Sorry, is this a bad time?" I also was so happy with Ross - I think I can finally say that I like him as captain. So great this episode, with my 2 favorite scenes probably being the first one when he's in Olivet's office && the second being when he tried to smooth things out between Eames and Goren when she finds out he was undercover.
Overall, this episode was excellent. I loved the interactions between the detectives, and the acting was amazing all-around. Hopefully we'll see similar scenes the rest of the summer where we get what we really want. ;) If that's the case, then it's an excellent start to an awesome summer. ^.^

(A note to fellow 'Bones' fans - did anyone else see mirrors between the above-mentioned scene and the whole Booth&Brennan argument during "The Pain In the Heart"? I was talking with my sister about how watching that scene last night made me think of 'Bones', && I was curious about whether anyone else felt the same)
