*Kristoph arrives at the defense lobby early, dressed in his signature lavender suit, all his evidence prepared. He's feeling very confident and it shows in his face as he waits for his client to be shown in.*

*some minutes later, Viola walks slowly into the defense lobby-- not looking any more tired, sickly or nervous than usual. She offers Kristoph a small, polite smile in greeting*

*Kristoph smiles brightly.* Good morning, Miss Cadaverini. You're not too nervous, I trust? Everything is well in hand.

*holds a hand to her mouth, stifling a little laugh* Hee... Hee... I'm not.

You seem... confident...

*Klavier has been in the prosecutor lobby for some time now, seated on the couch against the wall. Open files sit on either side of him, his sunglasses on top of his head as he reads over the last of a document, waiting for Gumshoe to arrive or the trial to start -- whichever comes first.*

*Daryan enters the prosecutor lobby with a plastic bag in his hand and a vistor's badge attached to his jacket. The bag met some odd stares from the security at the courthouse entrance, but they let Daryan through with it. He walks up to Klavier and raps him on the head to get his attention away from whatever he was reading.*

Yessir!

*Gumshoe clears his throat, standing up as straight as he can to make himself look more 'official'*

The murder took place during a community event and talent show held at People Park--specifically, in this little tent to the side where the performers were storing props and other stuff to prepare for their acts.

The victim in this case was Shinda Koitsu, 19 years old. The cause of death was a combination of blood loss and organ failure due to a single stab wound in his lower right abdomen--and because the position of the wound and of the body, it's likely that he was attacked from behind!

After he was killed, there was a fire in the tent--even though it was put out before it destroyed the place, it still charred the body something fierce, so we can't give an exact time of death... but it had to have happened during the second part of the talent show! That's the only time nobody was in there!

Hmmm...indeed.

Mr. Gavin, you may cross-examine the witness.

Thank you, Your Honor. *Kristoph looks to Gumshoe.* Was the murder weapon recovered from the scene?

officerscruffy April 20 2008, 04:21:02 UTC
You bet it was, pal! Found it sticking out of the body where the killer left it!

The murder weapon was this knife--used in the stage show by the magician, Valant Gramarye! We checked it for prints, but either the killer wore gloves or he wiped the handle clean after he did it... probably the first one! It's real tough to wipe the handle that clean if it's sticking in a body, see?

*Ema nods to Kristoph as he addresses her, and successfully manages to keep a nervous smile from her face.* Aah, yes sir.

*She tugs at her lab coat one more time, straightening her posture as she speaks out in a confident tone; one that suggests she's been practicing for this moment.*

My name is Ema Skye, student and future forensic investigator. Upon investigating the crime scene my partner and I discovered these-- *She presents a small plastic baggy containing several shards of blue glass, along with the white rose flower stopper.*

OBJECTION!

You could not even be bothered to visit me at the crime scene but you have been working for my brother?! Ema, how could you!?

*Ema sucks in a quick breath, temper flaring instantly.*

YOU were the one who told me I couldn't come because I'd "mess something up". YOU were the one fussing over me getting my shoes dirty. So don't point that finger at me!

I said you could bring me dinner still! I had to make Daryan get me dinner! He did not complain!
