[HOBBIES:] Chemistry, detective work, reading and admiring oneself as well as appreciating classical music.

[LIKES:] Chemistry, fame, attention, love, recognition.

[DISLIKES:] Phoenix Wright, and being ignored.

[STRENGTHS:] A schemer and plotter. He concocts bizarre plans to gain what he desires most, attention/love and admiration. He has a keen mind and enjoys various educational and mental pursuits, however jail has restricted this considerably.

[WEAKNESSES:] Eccentric to the point of being arguably mentally ill, his plan for the Mask DeMasque case was very sacrificial, talks too much and drops himself in sticky situations, bad at lying, highly dependent on others and their approval, arrogant personality makes the people he wants to like him, dislike him.

[APPEARANCE:] Long nose, unique hairstyle with shaven black hair and a strange blonde long spikey part (for lack of a better phrase), magnifying class monocle, and wears a huge red bow with matching hankerchief in his suit jacket.

[PERSONALITY:] Luke is first and foremost an arrogant and disliked man. He looks down on all others and claims to be an Ace Detective, even after his imprisonment. He desires admiration and to be remembered as well as being loved. He is a very eccentric soul and is more likely to laugh like a madman than show remorse or guilt. He is also known to exclaim "I see! It is all becoming clear! Zvarri!" No one really knows what Zvarri means it could be nonsense or have a meaning. He peppers his speech with strange phrases and eloquent metaphors.

[BACKGROUND:] Luke Atmey began as a Private Detective and was hired to help protect the "Emannon's Tear" from a new "phantom thief" who left an advance notice in the museum featuring the diamond. When the thief, Mask DeMasque, emerged Luke gave chase along with the other guards there, however Mask gave them the slip as Ron DeLite (Mask DeMasque's true identity) simply removed his costume and changed into his security guard uniform. Luke was the only person who noticed this change and stole the Mask DeMasque costume from the dustbin it was stashed in.

Ron DeLite got away with the diamond, and the crime but he lost his costume, which he soon replaced. Eventually, he got a blackmail letter from Luke Atmey (though Atmey didn't identify himself in the letter) threatening to reveal his identity if he did not hand over the gem. In return for Ron's compliance Atmey sent him a large sum of money in a safe deposit box, and began to take advantage of Ron. He began working at various locations as a security guard/detective and made detailed plans of the building, escape routes and CCTV blindspots as well as other useful information for a thief. He then sent these plans to Ron DeLite and blackmailed him further.
Ron was getting paid for his heists and Atmey was getting recognition as Mask's righteous nemesis as well as money. Atmey eventually decided to justify his reputation as an Ace Detective by returning one of the stolen items, claiming he had retrieved it. In return he was rewarded with a red diamond ring.

All was going well with the plan, Atmey got attention and the money, whilst Ron made money and kept the love of his life, Desiree. That is, until Kane Bullard, Ron's ex-boss, began investigating Mask DeMasque. Bullard was reputed as an information gatherer and blackmailer as well as the CEO of KB Security. His investigation of Mask DeMasque led him to believe that the true identity of the thief was Luke Atmey. He then sent Atmey a blackmail letter telling him to turn up at the CEO's Office in KB Security with a large sum of money or the red diamond ring, or else. Atmey then concocted the plan that would lead to his downfall.

He intended to steal the Kurain Urn as Mask DeMasque, but get caught for the theft. He then arranged for this theft to "occur" on the night he would be going to see Bullard. He put everything in place and "stole" the Kurain Urn at the same time he would be with Bullard days later. He then allowed himself to be caught on his camera he had setup which timestamped his "theft." Luke made sure that he altered the day the picture was taken on his computer he had setup for the camera, which created his alibi. He then sent the blackmail letter he recieved to Ron DeLite so that he could make sure Ron would be caught for Bullard's murder.

On the night of the theft (and the murder) Atmey headed to Bullard's office on time, he then murdered Bullard by hitting him with a figure head. Ron then arrived at the scene dressed as Mask DeMasque, thinking that he was being blackmailed by Bullard, his former boss. Atmey then struck Ron unconscious and pressed the security alarm and escaped, thinking that security would rush in to find Ron DeLite with the corpse of Kane Bullard. However, the plan failed and Larry Butz, the current security guard on the job, was too busy speaking to his girlfriend who was dumping him. However, Ron lost his wallet inside the KB Security building and his swipecard was used and logged in the system.

Ron learnt of the theft of the Kurain Urn and handed himself in as Mask DeMasque. He insisted that he was Mask DeMasque (which he technically was) constantly but was dismissed as being deluded. Eventually Phoenix Wright proved in court that Luke Atmey was Mask DeMasque and that on the night of the crime he was in the department store stealing the Kurain Urn. Luke immediately admitted this claiming he had no choice but to create a nemesis of his own to fight with. Ron DeLite's alibi was proven by his wallet being in the KB Security building which was found by Larry around the time of the crime.

Ron was then proven innocent of being Mask DeMasque. He was almost immediately arrested and charged by Prosecutor Godot for murdering Kane Bullard. After the investigation and a day in court Phoenix Wright's finger pointed at Luke Atmey once again. Luke was then taken out of the Mask DeMasque trial and put on the witness stand. Phoenix then managed to cast a shadow of doubt over Atmey's timestamped photograph but didn't crack him in the end. That is until Atmey made a final statement regarding Ron being the true criminal. This then opened a new line of questioning, in which Atmey revealed information he could not possibly know, unless he was at the scene of the crime. Atmey then broke into a bout of mad laughter as he was taken from the courtroom and imprisoned.
