Yesterday's rant against mediocrity must have been psychic in nature. And mediocrity struck back. I got a call yesterday afternoon from the photolab where I dropped off my film to be developed. Looks like they messed something up and ruined the roll. I should have just turned around and walked out when the kid behind the counter asked me if I wanted double prints for the roll of slide film i was turning in. I just looked at him, then at the film, then back at him, until he realized that this was slide and not reversal film. He did write E-6 on it, so at least they knew how they were supposed to process it. I actually wouldn't mind all that much if they cross-processed it. That could yield some interesting colors, but in this case I suspect they just messed up loading it in the developer or exposed the canister to light or something. I am going to get more details when i go today to see what they are willing to do in order for me to consider coming back there, though I don't think there is much of a chance of that.

And now it's time to search for a new photolab. I really don't want to have to send it away to Mystic Color Labs, but there is no way I am going back to MotoPhoto and there isn't really a way for me to develop color film myself. Black and white -- yes, color -- no.
