First, I'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to salpal for organising Gen X appreciation week. I only wish I could have contributed more - October is always the busiest month of the year for me, and sadly I did not budget my time as wisely as I should have. Anyway, thanks again salpal! I hope we get to have another week a bit down the road.

Generation X was the first comic I ever collected, and was also the first fandom I ever got into. While hunting in vain for the old fanfics that I remembered reading, I ran across Dex's IMHO column and with a mixture of horror and love saw that, yup, he had reviewed my sorry ass. Who knew that years later I would still enjoy writing about Gen X? (And seeing author handles like Jelpy, Bum, Kielle, and Falstaff brought back loooads of memories, let me tell you.)

Sadly, no matter how hard I tried, I could not find a gruesomely hilarious fic I remembered reading in those dusty yesteryear: the one where the convienence store clerk goes on a killing rapmage (stuffing Mondo into a meat grinder) and Jono blows his own penis off while attempting to have sex.

However, I did find a classic of Gen X fanfic: Generation X VS The Girl Scouts, by Mice.

It's not terribly awesome or anything, but I'm hoping somebody else out there remembers reading this when they were younger. And if you've never read it before, well, enjoy the concept.
