I was baptised into the Methodist communion, largely because my father was a dick. He was also a church elder, but that is rather beside the point. My mum, very non-denom, would've been just as happy tripping down to the nearest CofE franchise and going through the motions.
So, I was baptised Methodist, but I was born "introspective and critical", learned to read at an early age (well pre-school), and hadn't quite learned that lying or not mentioning opinions can save an awful lot of trouble.
Especially when you've read the Bible when Sunday School is still focusing on the big colour book of the Good Samaritan, becasue the Sunday School Teacher has no understanding of how to deal with a five-year old who says, quite clearly, "the Bible doesn't make sense". Caused quite a flutter in the church community. I have no memory of how my father reacted, which is always a bad sign.
Stiil , despite the consequences, I would encourage every Australian kiddie to rock up to their Sinday School and loudly declaim "This makes no sense!".
