May I just say that I am very much looking forward to your book? I'm very fond of retellings. It's just when they're well done they are wonderful and when they are not well done they border on dismal and/or silly, so it would be lovely to have such a reference.
As it is, it's taken me several years to get Mr. E to try Tam Lin by Pamela Dean. (I know, technically not a fairy tale retelling. *G*)
I'm glad you're looking forward to it. I'm thinking it'll probably take another two years before I'm finished writing the thing. I'm hoping to get enough of an outline and samples together within the next year to start shopping for a publisher, so hopefully it won't be too long between finishing the writing and getting it out. I'll definitely be posting big when I have more details :)
