you know, sometimes I get so excited by the girl being badass in a story, I don't care if it's an overused trope or not...

in other news, what sort of authors/books do you enjoy or are you basically an omnivore when it comes to reading?

Yeah, hence my mixed feelings. I really liked watching Millie kick ass. I just wish they'd let her do it in her own way rather than just pretty much take over her husband's schtick. There was, however, a great scene where Davy was upset because Millie was going to do something dangerous and she turned around and said "Now you know how *I've* felt for the last *ten years*" It was pretty brilliant.

As for books, I do tend to lean toward fantasy/sci-fi and YA, but I'll read just about anything. Which is good, because I'm a librarian and I get tons of free books from publishers, so I've got a little bit of everything. It's one of the few perks of this job :)

He the Dresden Files guy? No, I haven't yet, although he's been recommended to me before. The perils of having an overwhelming to-read list - There's lots of people I should read I haven't gotten to yet.
