The story is set against the backdrop of the East Ohio Gas explosion on Friday, October 20, 1944, but the real story is Morris himself and the nature of cowardice and bravery, lies and truth, childhood and maturity. *Very* good, and now I must go out and get the other Morris Bird III novels.
